- You will be working outdoors and standing/walking about for most of the shift
- Ford Island Base access is preferred but not required
- You must attend a screening/orientation (phone, online or in person) prior to being cleared (no walk ins please)
- Closed-toed comfortable shoes required

Tasks/Requirements

- Six-month commitment, once a week minimum 

- Training will be provided

- Data entry and digitization (scanning, saving files) using PastPerfect (museum software)

- Sorting and categorizing museum items, e.g. books, paintings or artifacts

If you have an outgoing personality, we need your help on the front lines to give a warm Aloha to visitors coming to learn about the history of Mighty Mo!

You will be stationed outdoors at the entrance area, standing or walking around to interact with visitorsYou will answer basic questions about the Battleship and giving directionsYou'll be telling them about Chuck the Iguana-- the Battleship's mascot. Did you know that there is over an acre of teak on the Mighty Mo? In this volunteer position, you will be helping restore her historic deck.

Requirements/Tasks

We request a once a week, 6-month commitment for this position18 + years oldAvailability: 3-hour shifts on weekdays M-F (pre-scheduled between 8:30 am to 12:30 pm)Removing teak (using an electric drill, hammers, and other tools)Clean, carry and store removed teakPhysically fit: able to work outdoors (on deck) stooping, kneeling and crouchingAble to carry 25 poundsMust review and comply with job-specific safety waiver prior to first shift Tools and equipment will be provided.
