Be Part of the Teak Team as a Preservation Volunteer

Description

Availability: M-F (3 hrs between 8:30 am to 12:30 pm)

Did you know that there is over an acre of teak on the Mighty Mo? In this volunteer position, you will be helping restore her historic deck.

Requirements/Tasks

  • We request a once a week, 6-month commitment for this position
  • 18 + years old
  • Availability: 3-hour shifts on weekdays M-F (pre-scheduled between 8:30 am to 12:30 pm)
  • To apply, sign up for a shift here to observe and shadow the team (This is part of the screening/orientation process)
  • Removing teak (using an electric drill, hammers, and other tools)
  • Clean, carry and store removed teak
  • Physically fit: able to work outdoors (on deck) stooping, kneeling and crouching
  • Able to carry 25 pounds
  • Must review and comply with job-specific safety waiver prior to first shift 
  • Tools and equipment will be provided. Closed-toe shoes, shirts with sleeves and long pants required
